Spin the Wheel of Food

Spin the Wheel of Food:

Spin the Wheel of Food and get a recommendation for a place to eat in your neighborhood. Pretty fun, though I didn’t like what it proposed for me today. I think it needs some more sources, though it’s using Yahoo Local for information. Still, fun! [via Matt]

Spin it you know you want too, I would of posted this last week but I was waiting for them to get it back up..

SwimMan’s waterproof iPod shuffle: it’s what’s inside that counts

SwimMan’s waterproof iPod shuffle: it’s what’s inside that counts:

Look, a waterpoof iPod shuffle! Yes there, pictured to the right. Where’s the big bulky case, you ask? Ain’t none… the waterproofing is on the inside this time kids. That’s right, SWIMMAN has turned an honest-to-goodness second generation iPod shuffle into a “100% waterproof” player capable of operation in waters up to 10 feet deep. You can’t scuba with it, but it’ll clip onto the back of your googles just fine if you’re a swimmer. Hell you can even wear it the shower… assuming you can find something to, uh, clip it to. Now the price: $150 for just the waterproofed iPod shuffle or $250 for the shuffle with a waterproof headset and a 1-year limited warranty…

Coolness!

Life, graphs, glass half full or half empty, and more. Very difficult to describe, but very fun to watch: Le Grand Content (page containing QuickTime movie). Indexed is a blog (w/ drawings on index cards) that’s referenced in the movie credits. [via Cynthia]

Ah that was a great little break….

Fast service from Apple

February 10th, 2007  |  Published in Uncategorized

So in late December I had a drive die in my main work computer at the time, a Apple Powerbook the last of the PPC hi-rez 15 inchers. I sent the drive off to ActionFront and for the first time I have ever heard of they could not retrieve any of the data. Some stuff was lost but most was backed up. Now it may not seem that the repair was fast if I am only talking about it now, but there is a bit of a back story. This laptop was bought for me by a client for tax reasons (both for them and me) and the AppleCare wasn’t activated, either my fault or theirs but that doesn’t matter, the warrantee was expired so it took a little while to get the AppleCare activated, some receipts and order numbers had to be tracked down. Also I was just so busy I kind of dropped the ball, and I had a new intel iMac so wasn’t really pressed to get it done. Long story short, I called AppleCare on Tuesday, the shipped a box that got here Wednesday, I dropped it off to ship on Thursday and I got it back today Saturday. So far it looks great, works great. They replaced the drive, replaced the battery (that’s cool didn’t know that was going to happen) and for some reason they replaced the VRAM. Say what you will about AppleCare but for me they have always been fast, helpful and darn it all makes me glad to get AppleCare on any portable I will ever get from them. Nice Job Apple, you still have me fooled ;)

Multi-Column Layouts Climb Out of the Box

Multi-Column Layouts Climb Out of the Box:

“Holy Grail,” “One True Layout,” “pain in the @$$”… Alan Pearce presents a cleaner approach to designing multi-column layouts.

Seems like it may have some issues in some browsers and admittedly doesn’t fully support images in backgrounds. would lead to some plain sites I would think, but maybe not, I am a design invalid
