Fast service from Apple
So in late December I had a drive die in my main work computer at the time, a Apple Powerbook the last of the PPC hi-rez 15 inchers. I sent the drive off to ActionFront and for the first time I have ever heard of they could not retrieve any of the data. Some stuff was lost but most was backed up. Now it may not seem that the repair was fast if I am only talking about it now, but there is a bit of a back story. This laptop was bought for me by a client for tax reasons (both for them and me) and the AppleCare wasn’t activated, either my fault or theirs but that doesn’t matter, the warrantee was expired so it took a little while to get the AppleCare activated, some receipts and order numbers had to be tracked down. Also I was just so busy I kind of dropped the ball, and I had a new intel iMac so wasn’t really pressed to get it done. Long story short, I called AppleCare on Tuesday, the shipped a box that got here Wednesday, I dropped it off to ship on Thursday and I got it back today Saturday. So far it looks great, works great. They replaced the drive, replaced the battery (that’s cool didn’t know that was going to happen) and for some reason they replaced the VRAM. Say what you will about AppleCare but for me they have always been fast, helpful and darn it all makes me glad to get AppleCare on any portable I will ever get from them. Nice Job Apple, you still have me fooled
